The Calm toolkit

The Calm Toolkit is a workbook and therapy program designed to be a coping toolkit for individuals suffering from anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
It has been developed for individuals with mental illness who wish to gain strategies for coping with anxiety and OCD, learning psychoeducational, cognitive-behavioural, and calming strategies to manage these conditions. It can also be used by practitioners in clinical practice.
This workbook is divided into three parts. First, there is a psychoeducation section that describes the psychological and biological aspects of anxiety and OCD. By understanding these conditions, individuals are better able to respond to and appreciate the logic and effectiveness of coping skills. Part 2 of this workbook involves using behavioural strategies to address anxiety and OCD in accordance with evidence-based Dialectical, Cognitive, and Rational Behaviour Therapies. Part 3 focuses on a Calm Toolkit of coping skills for anxiety and OCD, designed to help individuals relax by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. All three parts come together to provide a comprehensive workbook for individuals to cope effectively with anxiety and OCD.
